Hitachi GST Mexico has a large installed base of Laurier equipment used for sorting hard drive read/write heads.  These read/write heads known as “Femto Sliders” are very small (0.85mm x 0.7mm) and are separated into as many as 14 performance categories. Hitachi sliders are used in virtually all hard drives including the micro drive, which is increasingly popular in portable media players.
